The ideal candidate would maintain open communication with the family while talking and encouraging residents to communicate to help improve cognitively. The candidate would utilize basic knowledge of communication techniques, infection control, safety, body mechanics, and age-related differences when providing care.

Assists residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and transferring)

Prepare breakfast at resident leisure, serve lunch and dinner meals to residents in the dining room or provide feeding assistance to bed-bound residents

Records and reports changes in resident's eating habits to the supervisor

Records and reports changes in resident's needs, preferences, health (physical condition) and emotional (behavior) condition to the supervisor

Assists (supervises) and/or administer medication as instructed in medication procedure

Maintains daily records and documents medication distribution properly and accurately

Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the residents (follows cleaning schedules for general housekeeping duties throughout the home)

Follows proper procedures in emergency situations and responds promptly and positively to resident requests for assistance

Adhere to HIPPA and maintain client confidentiality
Caregiver Qualifications

At least 2 years of caregiving, group home, or CNA experience

CPR training or certification (preferred)

Experience with bowel and bladder program (preferred)

Experience with gait belt and Hoyer lift (preferred)

Has reliable transportation and is able to maintain an acceptable attendance record

Adhere to HIPPA and maintain client confidentiality
